North Park Toyota Donates Books to Back to School

North Park Toyota of San Antonio recently donated more than 4,000 books at the San Antonio Back 2 School Expo in a show of support for literacy in the community. This event took place on Aug. 3 at Freeman Expo Hall, which is at Freeman Coliseum, one of the community's historic sports and concert venues. It opened in 1949.

What Did North Park Toyota Participate In?

The Back 2 School Expo has become an annual tradition for children and their parents as they get prepared for the upcoming school year. In addition to the offering of school supplies such as books and backpacks, activities such as immunizations, eye exams, sports physicals and haircuts were taken advantage of. Even interactions with animals from the San Antonio Aquarium were enjoyed by the children attending.

What is the Goal of the Back 2 School Expo?

The intention behind the Back 2 School Expo is to ensure that no child is left behind as far as what they need for the school year because of an inability to pay. Several organizations in the San Antonio area, in addition to North Park Toyota, took part in this event to ensure that these children are able to more fully take advantage of their education.

At the Back 2 School Expo, children waited patiently in line to browse through the large selection of books before selecting one. Many were seen already wide-eyed and engrossed in the book that they had picked as they walked away.
